John Friedman

John Friedman first experienced the magic of the darkroom at summer camp as a kid and became a photographer for life. He only realized this only after working in theater, thinking he was a mathematician or architect in the making. Rather than his assignments, he was photographing his professors’ projects. Light bulb. He began working professionally making images for others; individual artists, architects and also law firms for publication, grant applications, their portfolios, use in trials. He also worked at the M H de Young Museum, for San Francisco Airport Exhibitions producing contextual photos used in exhibits, annual reports, etc. Finally, he is making images for himself.
