Study Guides and Study Slides
The Rhythmix PAL – Performance, Art & Learning assemblies are designed to foster awareness of world cultures, stimulate a sense of pride in students’ cultural heritage and deepen connections to their communities.
To help your students gain the most out of each PAL performance, Study Guides and Slide Sets are available to teachers registered for an assembly. If you are registered for an assembly and have not received the study material links, please email: pal@rhythmix.org
We appreciate your feedback! Please take a moment to fill out this short survey about your and your students’ experiences with PAL. Your answers help us secure future funding from foundations and donors so that we can continue offering PAL affordably to all schools!
Art Changes with the Alameda Education Foundation
Art Changes was designed by the Alameda Education Foundation to help teachers provide visual art instruction and appreciation in their classrooms, whether virtual or in-person.
Artist videos weave stories of inspiration and perspective that reflect the rich diversity of the Bay Area. Art project videos, produced by Will Chang and J Hernandez, promote equity and accessibility by limiting the materials needed for engagement.
Art Changes partners with the Rhythmix PAL – Performance, Art & Learning program to provide these visual art resources to students throughout Alameda County.
If you have any problems playing the videos, please try this link for an alternate version.
When Celeste Flores was studying art in college, she discovered blacksmithing. A blacksmith bends and molds metal into strong and beautiful sculptures. Celeste brings her years of teaching at the Crucible in Oakland, and at her blacksmith shop in Richmond, to her artistry. In this video, you’ll catch a glimpse of Celeste at work and see many of the pieces that she has designed and built.
Students will discover dozens of robot drawings and learn that naming a robot can make the image more impactful. Using markers, students will create and name their own robot.
MORE VIDEOS COMING SOON.
