Rhythmix Presents PAL
Performance, Art & Learning 2021-22
Rhythmix PAL – Performance, Art & Learning, is a youth arts education program developed in collaboration with the Alameda Unified School District. PAL fosters awareness about world cultures and empowers underserved youth through exposure to world music and dance.
After nearly a decade of hosting Alameda and Oakland students in its theater for live assemblies, Rhythmix launched its Virtual PAL program in the 2020-21 school year, serving over 20,000 students throughout Alameda County at NO COST to teachers or students. Teachers lauded the program for inspiring and connecting their remote learners to the arts through music and movement, as well as exposing students to diverse ethnicities and cultures. (See video clips of past PAL performances.)
With the uncertainty of the ongoing pandemic, the 2021-22 PAL program will remain available to all K-5 students in Alameda County FREE online! To complement these performances, the Alameda Education Foundation (AEF) has provided free visual arts resource videos featuring local artist profiles and art projects students can do at school or home. **NEW THIS YEAR** Rhythmix has added a Social Emotional Learning focus to its curriculum-based study materials. Students will be able to explore social emotional learning through the arts with their teachers and classmates.
Register your classroom to receive updates and links to this series of FREE ONLINE performance assemblies. (Please register by classroom, one class per application and not by school.) Performances will be available for 30 days after they are posted.
