Rhythmix Island Arts Concert Series presents: Ondas del Caribe with Cascada de Flores and Vission Latina. Cascada de Flores co-founders Arwen & Jorge present this special concert embracing the nostalgic song and traditions of Mexico and its neighbors into simply beautiful arrangements that allow space for improvisation and pure expression. Performing with the talented musicians of Vission Latina Trio, the ensemble will include Marco Díaz Carlos Caro, and Saúl Sierra-Alonso as they ride the Waves of the Caribbean. These artists will explore Trova, Son, Bolero, Cumbia, Danza featuring poetry, melody and rhythm that laps the shores of Mexico’s gulf coast, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Colombia.

Rhythmix Cultural Works is committed to presenting a roster of performers that reflect the rich heritage and ethnic diversity of the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. The Island Arts Concert series features contemporary interpretations of global musical traditions originating with island cultures. In support of this vision, “Celebrating Diversity on the Island” is the theme for the 2017 series, presenting guest artists who are reinventing and preserving the traditions of their respective musical forms, while also pushing the boundaries through distinctive cross-cultural collaborations.
