On Thursday, March 26th at 6:30pm, Rhythmix Cultural Works is hosting an ONLINE Town Hall Meeting to address issues surrounding AB5 specifically as they relate to and impact Performing Arts Organizations and performing artists.

Rhythmix is actively researching the best web meeting format for this event. Stay tuned for details.

In attendance will be Assemblyman Rob Bonta of District 18, which includes Oakland, Alameda, San Leandro and parts of Emeryville, Julie Baker, the Executive Director of Californians for the Arts, and other dignitaries TBA.

During the Town Hall, Assemblyman Bonta and Executive Director Baker will each discuss their efforts and involvement with AB5. Select East Bay performing arts organizations and artists will also briefly discuss how they have been directly affected by this legislation. In the spirit of moving toward an amendment for performing artists and arts organizations, we plan to discuss and brainstorm future possibilities for modified legislation in the Q&A.

PLEASE NOTE: Our intention is to keep the focus of this meeting specifically on the impact of AB5 on performing artists and performing arts organizations.

Although there are many business concerns that have been impacted by AB5, we would ask that you please limit sharing this information with your artistic friends and Performing Arts Organizations in District 18 (or beyond).
