Rhythmix Annual fundraising event is back, with a new name and new features to entice our guests. On Saturday, August 11 from 2pm to 5pm, guests at Pour Your HeART Out Benefit for the Arts will be lavished with live music, local food, and craft beverages. And all for a great cause. Not only will you get wined and dined, all proceeds from this event support Rhythmix free arts education programs for youth in Alameda and Oakland.
In terms of entertainment, Rhythmix is offering a fabulous performance line up. Attendees will be captivated by the dynamic blues and jazz stylings of vocalist Rhonda Benin with The Lillian Armstrong Tribute Band, featuring Sundra Manning on piano, Ruth Price on drums, Ruth Davies on bass and Kristen Strom on saxophone. Outside in the courtyard, guests will be transported to the Caribbean with the amazing dancing and drumming of Taller Bombalele (Puerto Rican music and dance). The fast hip shaking of Tiare Tahiti (Tahitian dance) is sure to stir up the crowd, and the twists and spins of the Salsa Lab dancers will leave the audience swooning. If that’s not enough, the excitement builds into a grand finale performance by taiko percussion group, Maze Daiko. However you slice it, it’s going to be an amazing time. And, you can get an early bird discount through August 1st!
