Nia is a mind-body fitness program that provides a path
to condition, heal and express your self through through
a dynamic blend of dance arts, martial arts and healing
arts. Delivering cardiovascular, whole-body conditioning,
Nia offers a fun, creative pathway to health and wellbeing.
Balancing technical precision with free-form expression,
Nia brings the body, mind, emotions and spirit to optimum
health, regardless of age or physical condition. Previous
dance experience is not required. Classes are open to all
levels of fitness.

Susie Schoonmaker is a certified Nia Brown
Belt Instructor, an artist and has a Master's Degree in
Expressive Arts Therapies. She has been teaching Nia for
over 15 years in Boston, upstate New York and the San Francisco
Bay Area. Susie enjoys nurturing her body and soul with
the uplifting and healing energies of Nia in her classes
and workshops. Her passion is integrating creative movement
with artistic self expression to soothe the mind, heal the
body and transform the spirit.
