9am - 12:00pm Taiko is the Japanese word for "big drum." Campers will spend their mornings experiencing the joy and energy of playing taiko while learning aspects of Japanese culture and language and developing basic skills in rhythm and movement.
12:00pm - 12:30pm Lunch! Time for eating, socializing & free play.
12:30pm - 3pm Each camper will make a beautifully decorated rainstick. This musical instrument is used in many countries to call the rain. Rainsticks have a gentle sound which adds to any performance or can be used to accompany music at home.
The week will culminate with a Music Makers Concert on Friday at 3pm. Parents and friends are invited to come watch our campers show off their skills!
3 - 5pm After care is available Monday through Thursday.
Important Notes:
Campers must wear loose fitting clothing appropriate for physical activity (NO JEANS) and being upside-down.
Long hair should be tied back.
Please pack a snack and bottle of water, the morning activities require a lot of energy and hydration.
