Board of Directors
Long inspired by global traditions and
spontaneous music making, Tina Blaine (also
known by her stage name, Bean) has been studying and performing
on a variety of electronic and acoustic percussion for more
than 30 years. She has written music for NPR, video games,
TV and documentary soundtracks, and has performed/recorded
with Brian Eno, Mickey Hart, D'CuCKOO, Haunted by Waters,
Maze Daiko, Pandemonaeon, Shakini, The Bindi Society, and
others lured by the muse.
Blaine is a facilitator, presenter and performer of musical
and rhythm-based events, exhibits, classes and workshops.
She holds a Masters of Entertainment Technology from Carnegie
Mellon University and taught there from 2000 to 2006. Blaine
has been an integral part of the development of arts programming,
outreach efforts, marketing, fundraising, and administration.
After serving in the capacity of interim Executive Director
for 7 months, she became RCW’s executive director
in December 2010, drawing on the management expertise she
developed at Interval Research, Carnegie Mellon and the
Tech Museum of Innovation.

Born in New Jersey, but bred in Brazil,
Bob Gonsalves demonstrated his skills with
technology at an early age by 'improving' his parents' stereo
system. Mr. Gonsalves has previously served as a consultant
to Panasonic, Atari, Xerox and numerous startup firms and
museums (Exploratorium, Randall Museum). In addition to
computer hardware design, he has won several awards for
a series of interactive computer games. He holds two patents
based on his work on The Lingraphica System for speech-language
rehabilitation. He holds a BA in Comparative Religion from
Swarthmore College and an MFA in Multimedia from Mills College/Center
for Contemporary Music.

Corey Hill is a human rights activist,
fundraising professional, and journalist -- as well as Alameda
resident and proud parent of two. His writing has appeared
in numerous publications, including Common Ground, Alternet,
and the East Bay Express.

Janet Koike taught dance
and movement through Oakland Parks and Recreation, and served
as an Artist in Residence for Early Learning through the Arts,
in Head Start Programs. She worked as the Arts School Program
Coordinator for the Oakland Museum, then joined the artistic
staff of San Jose Taiko as Outreach Coordinator. In 1998,
Rhythmix world percussion ensemble was formed and Rhythmix
Cultural Works (RCW) became a 501(c)(3) organization. As director
of RCW, Koike organized tours to Cuba to study folkloric music
and dance, and pioneered a trip to Sado Island to study at
the Kodo apprentice center. In 2007, Koike launched RCW's
community arts center in Alameda with performance space, gallery
and classroom to realize her vision of bringing people together
through culture and the arts.

Eric J. Kos graduated
from Rhode Island School of Design where he became fascinated
with the ancient art of painting and the nascent art of computer
graphics. He wrote for and designed several publications before
forming Stellar Media Group, Inc. in 2001 to publish a weekly
newspaper, the Alameda Sun, to which he regularly
contributes. In 2004, he teamed up with Dennis Evanosky to
write East Bay Then & Now which led to other
contracted works: San Francisco in Photographs,
San Francisco Then & Now and the upcoming Los
Angeles from the Air Then & Now. Kos is a past president
of the Greater Alameda Business Association. He is working
on other manuscripts and a mural currently.

Making things happen is what Jan
Mason is all about. Owner of OMM, Inc., an established
Alameda real estate and property management company, Jan
is known for her unique and artistic approach to the business
of real estate. With her strong art background, her commitment
to transformation - whether it is a building or a new idea,
she is enthusiastic about championing Rhythmix Cultural
Works to the Alameda community. She loves the TAIKO classes!
Jan was awarded Business Woman of the Year 2007 by the Alameda
Chamber of Commerce, and Professional Business of the Year,
by the Park Street Business Association. With great joy,
Jan Mason brings her business moxie plus her exuberant energy
to Rhythmix Cultural Works.

She studied classical music throughout
her youth, but it was the visceral experience of taiko drumming
that really changed her life! Just days after seeing her first
taiko concert in 1998, Carolyn West joined
Emeryville Taiko, and studied and performed extensively with
the group for seven years. In 2001, she participated in the
first KasaMix trip to Japan, a cultural exchange cosponsored
by Kodo Arts Sphere America and Rhythmix Cultural Works. In
2006, she joined Maze Daiko, the ensemble based at RCW, known
for combining traditional taiko forms and rhythms with non-traditional
instrumentation and cross-cultural grooves. Carolyn has also
held a progression of positions in small businesses involved
in entertainment, manufacturing, construction and law. Since
1996, she has been practicing trusts and estates law, and
is currently with a firm in downtown Oakland. An Alameda resident
for over 15 years, Carolyn is delighted to support Rhythmix
Cultural Works, and invites everyone to attend and participate
in arts events, performances, classes, theater, and other
gatherings in a beautiful community venue.

Jeff Cambra is the Producer/Director of Alameda
Currents TV and Board Member, Treasurer, Exec Committee member
of theWest Alameda Business Association.

Joshua Cohen has been
involved with music in and around the San Francisco Bay Area
for many years as violinist, bassist, concertmaster, conductor,
board member and impresario. At California State University,
Hayward (now East Bay), he studied violin with Daniel Kobialka
and Nate Rubin, and conducting with Dennis DeCoteau. He has
performed with many groups around the region including the
Oakland East Bay Symphony, the California Symphony, Oakland
Lyric Opera, Holy Names Orchestra, Livermore Valley Opera,
Livermore Symphony, San Jose Lyric Theater, Alameda Civic
Light Opera, Diablo Valley Opera, Contra Costa Musical Theater,
Trinity Chamber Concerts, and plays occasionally with the
Ellis Island Old World Folk Band and the San Francisco Balalika
Ensemble. Josh has also served on the boards of the Oakland
Lyric Opera, the California Symphony, and ProMusica Alameda
and has been involved in projects with the San Francisco,
Oakland (Oakland East Bay), California, and Berkeley Symphonies.

Patricia Craig gained
her first critical vocal acclaim as a winner of the Metropolitan
Opera National Council Auditions. Her performing career spans
more than three decades of major roles in the leading opera
houses of the world. She made her Metropolitan Opera debut
in 1978 as Marenka in The Bartered Bride, under James Levine,
in John Dexter's production. Met audiences heard her for the
next twelve seasons in a variety of leading roles in operas,
including Madama Butterfly, Dialogues of the Carmelites, La
Bohème, and Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny.
Craig is a specialist in Puccini and Verdi heroines whose
other operatic credits include performances with New York
City Opera; Teatro la Fenice in Venice, Italy; the Festival
of Two Worlds in both Spoleto, Italy, and Charleston, South
Carolina; L’Opéra de Marseilles; and the companies
of Cincinnati, Miami, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. Craig
taught at the New England Conservatory for 20 years, then
became a member of the voice faculty of the San Francisco
Conservatory of Music. She also teaches at her private voice studio
in Alameda.

Michael Delucchi is
the Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer
of Trans Pacific National Bank (TPNB), Alameda’s oldest
community bank. Also a director of the bank, Michael has held
many executive positions at financial institutions in the
Bay Area for over 23 years. TPNB and Michael are dedicated
to the community of Alameda, supporting small businesses,
and recognizes the importance of Rhythmix Cultural Works to
the city of Alameda and the creative arts..

Elaine N. Fong is
the founder and artistic director of Odaiko New England,
one of the few taiko (Japanese drum) groups in Massachusetts.
She has over twenty five years of taiko performance, teaching
and administrative experience. In addition to taiko, Ms.
Fong has over ten years of dance training. Ms. Fong is also
a certified TaKeTiNa rhythm instructor at the basic level.
Ms. Fong received her undergraduate degree from Princeton
University, and a Masters in Public and Private Management
from the Yale School of Organization and Management. In
addition to her experience in the arts, Ms. Fong has over
sixteen years of not-for-profit administrative experience.
She has also worked in the public and private sectors. She
is currently a board member of the YWCA Boston, and a United
Way allocations committee volunteer.

Dr. Jannett Jackson received her doctorate
from the prestigious Community College Leadership Program
in Educational Administration at The University of Texas at
Austin and holds a Masters in Education emphasis in Curriculum
& Instruction and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Liberal
Studies from CSU, Fresno. Dr. Jackson has over twenty-seven
years of experience in support services, instruction and administrative
areas within the California Community College system and is
currently serving a 3 year terms as President of the College
of Alameda.

Audrey Lord-Hausman
brings a varied corporate as well as nonprofit management
and board experience to Rhythmix. She is co-founder of Pedestrian
Friendly Alameda and created the city-wide Walk & Roll
to School Day program, aspects of which have been incorporated
on a year-round basis in many schools and organizations. She
sits on the City of Alameda’s Commission on Disability
Issues and is a passionate theatre and music lover. Audrey
also served for six years as the Administrative Coordinator
of the Alameda
Collaborative for Children, Youth & Families, City
of Alameda. Some of the projects include children's health,
after school programming, safety, and the teen program produces
the Youth Yellow Pages and a teen magazine, "Out Loud - Thoughts
of a Teenage Mind."

Kathy Moehring studied theater in her hometown
of New York City and performed on many stages off Broadway
to off-off-off Broadway. Kathy was a regularly featured performer
at Alameda’s former jazz club – Kelly’s
on Park, sang in many community events and entertained audiences
at numerous venues in the Bay Area, including: The Empire
Plush Room, Forli’s, Club Paradiso, The Woodminster
Theatre, Theatre Rhinoceros, American Cancer Society at Golden
Gate Park, Weddings (and funerals).

Hadi Monsef is Vice President and Broker
at Omm Inc., served on the Island’s Public Utilities
Commission from 1975 to 1983 and on the City Council from
1983 to 1989.

Margie Sherratt has been an educator in AUSD
for thirty five years and currently serves on the School Board.
Her background includes long term, multi-facted experience
as an educator: teacher (6 – Adult), middle school and
high school Head Counselor, District Administrator as Coordinator
of ROP/School to Career/Colleges, and Alameda High School
Principal. Her extensive leadership experience includes working
collaboratively with students, staff, parents, community members,
local businesses, and Police, Fire and various City departments
in a proactive way to build positive relationships and to
effectively problem-solve and resolve concerns.

Mark Sorensen,
former owner and lead designer of Renwick & Wolfe and
Fabulous on Park Street, is now the Executive Director of
the Alameda Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as Vice President
of Alameda Meals on Wheels and Alameda Friendly Visitors,
the Alameda Fourth of July Committee and works on Chief of
Police Michael Noonan’s Citizen’s Advisory Board
of the Alameda Police Department. __________________
Lorann Snow is a social media guru, advising
small businesses and start-ups on the benefits of social networking,
interactive marketing, and online branding. She helps people/companies
identify opportunities and develop plans for implementing
scalable social media programs to generate maximum social
engagement.

Teddy Tabor was on the
Board of Directors with the Alameda Civic Light Opera for
12 years and served as the Community Liaison. She also worked
closely with the student interns through out ACLO's production
years.Teddy is currently with the Alameda Film Commission
and the Alameda Boys and Girls Club Advisory Board.

Ewart Wetherill is a renowned acoustic architect
(acoustician) and is currently vice-president of the Citizens'
League for Airport Safety and Serenity (CLASS). "Red"
as he is affectionately known, provides his expertise to non-profits
such as Rhythmix and actively lectures on topics including
"Acoustics in Buildings", "Worship Spaces"
and "Acoustical Experiments."

Kathleen C. Woulfe is
an Endowment Coordinator & Community Relations at Alameda
Council BSA - Non-profit and is also a Project Manager &
Community Relations at PK Consultants, Inc.
She is VP at Meals on Wheels Alameda, worked as the Campaign
Manager for Marie Gilmore for Mayor and served as the Director
of Development & Community Relations at the Boys &
Girls Club of Alameda.
